What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid based products which aim to provide definition and restore lost volume. Hyaluronic acid is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring substance in the body and is formed into a gel to create a smooth looking appearance. This product is normally well tolerated by clients with little or no adverse effects. The most common side effects include swelling, redness, bruising and pain at the injection site. The practitioner will go through the side effects with you at your consultation.
How long does the treatment take and how long will it last?
This will depend on the evenness of your lips prior to treatment and the desired effect you require, however typically the treatment takes 30-45 minutes. Dermal fillers last approximately 6-18 months depending on the volume being injected and the area of the face being treated. If you receive 0.5ml for your first treatment, most clients return within 3-6 months as 0.5ml is a very natural amount. However, you may want to return sooner if you want to build up the shape and size of the lips.
What products are used?
All products contain Lidocaine, an anaesthetic to aid comfort during the procedure. The practitioner will also use numbing cream prior to the treatment which works very quickly.
Fillers are available without Lidocaine upon request.
How much does it cost?
0.5ml of lip filler is £130 and 1ml is £250
